Who doesn’t want more clients, right? That’s the number 1 thing my clients and community tell me they want in their businesses. More clients, more income, consistent revenue, increased sales. Is that what you’re looking for too?
The main thing we all want in our businesses is more clients and sales, right? Well, getting them is actually pretty simple: If you want to make more sales in your business, then you need to be selling more. (I said it was simple, I didn’t say it was easy.)
The truth is, the ONLY way to get more clients is to sell more.
I know you may be thinking that there HAS to be another way. You’ve seen the sleazy sales tactics that make you want to immediately go take a shower, and I bet you’re thinking, “if that’s what it takes to get clients and make money, I am OUT!”
I get it. If you’re anything like me, I bet you started your business out of a desire for freedom and for helping people, not necessarily for the money. Wouldn’t it be great if our ideal clients could magically come knocking on our virtual doors without having to do any selling? While I’m afraid that won’t be happening anytime soon, there are ways to sell that both feel good and get results. I know you don’t want to be salesy or spammy, and you don’t want to push your services on people. The good news is you don’t have to be ANY of those things in order to make sales in your business.
The act of selling itself is not salesy or sleazy or spammy or icky.
We’ve ALL seen plenty of people who sell in that way, and it’s understandable to start thinking that’s what selling is, but that’s not the reality.
The icky sleazy sales tactics tend to stand out to us the most because they cause a memorable negative reaction. It’s normal to look at someone selling in a way that feels really gross and vow to never be like them. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t sell in your business.

The sooner you can let go of the belief that selling is inherently icky, the sooner you can start putting more offers in front of more people (in a way that feels really good) and start seeing consistent clients and income in your business.
I’ve seen the results in my business for myself.
I used to feel SO uncomfortable when it came to selling in my business. I felt like I was being pushy or bothering people anytime I talked about my services, but worst of all, there were times when I felt like I didn’t have anything valuable to sell in the first place. The problem was that I was keeping all the focus on me and how I felt about selling, rather than focusing on the people I was selling to. As soon as I shifted that focus, that’s when everything changed.
I started opening up a dialogue with people who fit my ideal client profile, I engaged with my audience and asked them questions about what they wanted from me, and what they struggled with when it came to my zone of genius, and that’s when I started to realize that selling = helping.
When I started selling with empathy, (i.e. putting the people I’m serving front and center and learning how THEY engage with the problem I solve) that’s when everything changed. Because when I started talking to them and LISTENING to them, I started to see how much people actually were struggling in an area that I could help them!
The same is true for your ideal clients too. They have problems that you can solve for them, and the only way to help them is to let them know about your services and how you can help them.
