I’ve been quiet around here lately, and that’s I’ve been quiet around here lately, and that’s because I’ve been working on some BIG personal changes behind the scenes.

In the last few months, an amazing (and completely unexpected) job opportunity has come up, along with an international move. That’s right, after 4 years of full-time entrepreneurship, I’ve decided to take a JOB! 🤯

Don’t worry, I’m not leaving the online business space - I’m joining the leadership team of another online business, @summitinabox - Summit in a Box helps online business owners host virtual summits that increase their visibility, income, and impact, and I am so excited to be joining this team! 🎉

Krista, the founder of Summit in a Box, is a long-time client-turned-friend of mine with shared values and a similar vision for the online business industry. I am thrilled to be working with her to help even more online business owners grow and achieve their goals in a way that prioritizes connection, empathy, and mutually beneficial experiences for everyone involved. 😍

I NEVER thought I’d be going back into full-time employment, but this job ticks all the boxes in terms of what I was looking for when starting a business: flexible hours, fully location-independent, and the opportunity to use my skills in a meaningful way doing work I care about. I’ll take it!

🚨What this means for my business: I am an entrepreneur at heart, and I have no doubt that my entrepreneurial journey is far from over, but it’s time for a pause and a new direction. With so many things vying for my attention right now, I need to focus on my other priorities and slow things down in the business. I’ll be sharing some personal content here as I navigate these big changes, but don’t expect much business content from me here for a while. Keep an eye out for more updates here in the coming months, and be sure to check out what we’re doing over at @summtinabox!

🏡 And as for the move, all I’ll say for now is that after 8 years in Spain, it’s time for a change. I am currently packing up and getting ready to put all of my things on a moving truck (hint) and by Friday I’ll be living in a new country! Keep an eye on my stories for more updates in the coming days.
I’m a big believer that there is no one right wa I’m a big believer that there is no one right way to build a business, and entrepreneurship is a means of creating YOUR version of success on your terms. That means removing the “shoulds” and “have tos” and doing things your way.

Yes, there are best practices and general business principles that it makes sense to follow, but when you get into the specifics of strategies and tactics, there are infinite things that could work.

The best results are going to come when you have a general understanding of foundational business principles, and then apply them in a way that’s unique to you, your business, and your goals.

This is exciting, but it can also be scary. There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with the freedom of entrepreneurship.

Too often, those responsibilities can creep up on new entrepreneurs and become overwhelming.

It can start to feel like too much to figure out on your own. So the dreams and needs and desires that led you to start your business in the first place get abandoned for the security of an expert telling you they have the answer.

Little by little, you give away the freedom (time, financial, self-expression) you were seeking through your business in order to feel a little safer following someone else’s strategy.

This false safety and security won’t give you the results you’re after. It can’t. The results you're after aren’t built by following others.

They’re built trusting yourself and leading the way as you create something unique to you.

Where are “shoulds” and “have to’s” showing up in your business, and how are they restricting you or preventing you from showing up as the truest version of yourself in your business?
Going out on your own and starting your own busine Going out on your own and starting your own business is tough. You are going to experience challenges, roadblocks, and things that don’t turn out the way you wanted them to.

When this happens, it’s so normal to start looking for answers outside of ourselves.

It’s easy to slip into thinking that someone else (ie the bros and babes who seem to be #LivingTheirBestLives thanks to their easy-peasy online business) has all the answers.

Let me tell you now that they do not. This isn’t a dig at anyone. I also do not have all the answers.

I can tell you what worked for me. I can give you pointers and action items and reflection questions and coaching to help you on your journey. But I cannot give you a rulebook that will guarantee results. No one can.

It ultimately comes down to trusting yourself, and having your own back along the journey.

Putting your needs first in your business is not s Putting your needs first in your business is not selfish.

You’re building something bigger than you, and you have big dreams and a vision for the positive impact you can have through your business.

Taking care of you first gives you the stamina to keep going and make that impact a reality.
I used to avoid watching my video content and eval I used to avoid watching my video content and evaluating the things I’ve created in my business like the plague.

My perfectionist brain looooves to point out all the flaws.

But when I can move beyond the self-criticism and look at my past work objectively, I see it as the enormous resource for my business that it is.

All of the content, courses, blog posts, free resources, webinars, workshops, etc. that you’ve created over the years are intellectual property that you can leverage in your business over and over again…

Don’t let the awkward and cringy feelings that come up when you look at your past work keep you from using it as the resource for your business that it is.

I promise it’s better than your brain is telling you it is.
